 Learning how to make rope

We took the kids out to historic Chesterfield on Memorial Day for their open house for the summer.  While we were there, they learned how to make butter, rope, hankerchief dolls, how the pioneers stored their food in dugouts, what a real outhouse was, and all about hunting and weapons in pioneer times.  I think they had fun and it was fun to hear them talking about NEVER wanting to have to go to the bathroom in a real outhouse!
